About Kitar

Built in Jakarta for Southeast Asia's buyback market.

We kept watching buyback desks lose margin to inconsistent grading and outdated price lists. We built Kitar to fix both problems at once.

Our story

The problem was always the same.

In 2024, our founding team spent six months embedded with buyback operations across Jakarta. The grading problem was everywhere. One counter would offer Rp 2.8M for a device another counter graded at Rp 3.5M. Customers noticed. Arguments happened. Margins leaked.

The price-list problem was worse. Most operations updated their reference prices once a month, sometimes less. Meanwhile the secondary market in Jakarta moves daily. A Galaxy S23 Ultra that was worth Rp 8.2M last Tuesday might be worth Rp 7.6M today because a refurbished batch cleared at auction.

We built Kitar to grade from photos rather than opinions, and to price from today's market rather than last month's spreadsheet. The company launched in 2025 and opened early access to operators in 2026.

The team

The people behind Kitar

Kelly Ding
Kelly Ding
CEO & Co-founder

Kelly spent five years at a Jakarta electronics wholesaler before founding Kitar. She has graded more used phones by hand than she can count, which is why she wanted a machine to do it.

Rizky Santoso
Rizky Santoso
CTO & Co-founder

Rizky trained computer vision models at a logistics startup before joining Kitar. He led the design of the grading model and the market pricing engine. He is responsible for the 10-second target.

Nadia Permata
Nadia Permata
Head of Partnerships

Nadia works directly with buyback operators and refurbished electronics retailers to understand how the product fits their workflow. Her background is in building buyer-seller networks across the secondary devices sector in Southeast Asia.

What we believe

How we build

Evidence over opinion

Every grade should be traceable to a photo. If you cannot show a customer the scratch that changed their price, you do not have a grade, you have a guess.

Today's price, not last month's

A static price list is a liability. Markets move faster than monthly updates. Kitar refreshes pricing daily so every offer is anchored to what the device is actually worth right now.

Consistent across every counter

Customers compare prices across locations. When two branches of the same chain give different grades for the same condition, one of them is wrong. Kitar makes sure they agree.

Built for real workflows

We spent months at real buyback counters before writing a line of code. The interface is designed for staff who are handling a queue, not for analysts with time to study dashboards.
